AZMike
"Well, hopefully, you are surprised by that, since most discriminatory practices have some origin in religion...or more specifically, perturbations of religions by factions or sub-leaders with their own power agendas." But of course. The Tuskeegee Syphilis Experiments against unsuspecting African American citizens, the sterilization of "defectives" in the United States under the progressive "Eugenics" movement of the 1920s and 1930s, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger's desire to abort African-American babies to reduce the "underclass," the genocide of the Kulaks under the Bolsheviks, the genocide of the Vendeans under the French Revolution, the genocide of intellectuals under Mao's Cultural Revolution, the brutal repression of the Cristeros by the revolutionary atheist government in Mexico, the ongoing market for child prostitutes in America and around the world, etc., etc., etc. All must have had their origin in religion, or something. - I don't know God, or what he said, but I'm kinda suspicious of the idea he told it to King James. Well, you got that last part right.
RememberSchiff
Anyone know if something happened to Northern Star Council's Inclusive Policy? The OP link is gone! http://www.northernstarbsa.org/AboutUs/Leadership/Inclusiveness.aspx There is still an Inclusiveness link here on the Policies page, but the page itself is gone http://www.northernstarbsa.org/Resources/Policies/ ??? BDPT00
Their local paper tried to sensationalize a non-story. It clearly worked (you're still interested). The council's stated policy is ten years old, and was approved by national long ago. The liberal-leaning paper's reporter gave slanted opinions on national's policy as well as the council's policy. There's no news there. BDPT00
RememberSchiff
Regardless how old their Inclusiveness Policy is, the question remains where did it go? It was still posted last week on their website. Now it appears missing.
Eagle732
Probably out for revision again!
scoutingagain
Suspect the Council SE got a call from National informing him they've been on double secret probation the last 10 years and they need to revise thier policy. SA
ghjim
It sure looks to me like National cracked down on them. I notice Clark Green's website no longer allows any discussion on BSA membership policies. Looks like they got to him also.
fred8033
Northern Star now has a new page. The old "inclusiveness" page re-routes to this one. I'm sad that Northern Star was pushed to change their policy. BUT ... I'm not sure if the policy was changed as much as re-written to be not so in-your-face defiant. http://www.northernstarbsa.org/aboutus/leadership/leadership_standards.aspx(This message has been edited by fred8033)
