OldGreyEagle
Eammon, I was at the 2001 National Jamboree and was at that fireworks demonstration. With Lee Greenwoods "Proud to be an American" on the louspeakers and the pyrotechnics and the cheering scouts, it brought a tear to me eye. Later that year, on 9/11, tears again came to my eyes. Now I sit in my office, having just seen a statue of Saddam Hussein pulled down through a cooperate effort of US forces and Iraqis and again tears come to my eyes. fboisseau
When I first read this post, I was not sure that this song was the one that my father use to sing as a member of a church folk group when I was a kid. I would say the song is sutiable for vespers and the message in the song is very strong.
