vol_scouter
SSScout, Interesting points. So it would seem that a couple of things would help recruiting in the hispanic community. One is to make it very easy for scouts to change from one council to another so when the family moves, the youth can be welcomed by the new council and find a unit that would be a good fit for the youth. For that to work, the SE down through the scouters must make success in the hispanic community a priority. The second thing that would help is to drop the background checks for everyone. We should all be vigilant for the safety of our youth charges for only vigilance will bring safety (more often than not, people who abuse other people's children are first time offenders). Clearly these are not the only answers but would go a long way to increasing the involvement in the hispanic community.
