smaster101
Our scouts have told me they want to go paint balling as a troop activity. Ive heard of several other troops in our area doing this, but I thought paint ball was not allowed under BSA guidelines. Anyone know the official policy on this? smaster101
Oops, Sorry everyone. I just read OGE's post regarding laser tag and got the message loud and clear about paint ball. I should have checked the guide to safe scouting first anyway. Regardless, I know some troops are doing it anyway, so let's hope no one gets injured. Hawk
Smaster101, the "Guide to Safe Scouting" Manual lists paint ball as an activity which is not allowed. Which has been a great disappointment of the scouts.
acco40
The boys in our troop wanted to play paintball. My advice, talk to your parents, talk to the boys, and have at it. Just do not do it as a BSA activity. I (the SM) would not organize it. Similar to other GTSS issues. What I do as a parent violates some GTSS policy. What I do as SM does not. OldGreyEagle
As Agent 86, Maxwell Smart would say: Ah, "the old bunch of friends and their parents getting together to play paintball which is ok just as long as it doesnt count as a troop activity even though all the participants are from a troop trick" Actually, that'll work
