gwd-scouter
Whomever you choose, please remember to go out and vote tomorrow.
Rooster7
And if you're voting for Obama, be sure to be there bright and early Wednesday morning! ;-)
Kahuna
And if you're voting for Obama, be sure to be there bright and early Wednesday morning! I was just going to say that!
John-in-KC
Gentlemen, I may be a McCain supporter too, but whatever happened to a Scout is Trustworthy? Shame. I voted absentee some days ago.
packsaddle
"Trustworthy", I was just thinking the same thing. I also voted absentee a few days ago.
Trevorum
Heh, heh. John & pack, I think Rooster and Kahuna were just making the old joke. None of us here would seriously mislead anyone about election day! I've also voted already. Twice. packsaddle
Trev, you may be right. I'm sensitive to the topic because there have been calls in which the person is asked for views on the issues. If the views were in agreement with those of the party of the caller, the person was then asked if they were registered. And if not, an offer was made to register that person. If the person expressed views in disagreement, they were thanked. Click. This has sensitized me to this particular aspect of "trustworthy". It smacks of tactics used in my region in the past to keep minorities away from the polls and more recently to bias the registration process. Sorry. SR540Beaver
I did my civic duty on the way to work this morning and have the "I Voted" sticker to prove it. It has already paid off as the coffee shop I stopped at gave me 50 cents off for having my sticker on. This Socialism thing just might catch on!!! BTW, I did a good turn and gave Mickey Mouse and Tony Romo a ride to the polling place.
Gunny2862
Primary civic duty of the day complete... moving on to the next. Wish we had early voting but I did manage to get in and out in 14 minutes - took longer to drive there than to vote.
SR540Beaver
Gunny, Wow, lucky you! It took 45 minutes start to finish for me and that was with it moving at a good clip. A few miles down the road I passed another polling place that had at least 100 people standing outside the door waiting.
Gunny2862
This set of volunteers had done an excellent job of breaking down the entrance line. They sorted by "First Letter of Last Name" almost immediately(Thus creating almost no "general" line) and sent each subset to different areas of the building. The line for my grouping was about 25 deep when I stepped in line in that area. Best logistical set up for a vote I've seen yet. BrentAllen
I voted early on Friday. It took 2 solid hours, standing in 35 degree weather (where is all that globull warming?) I probably would have had a shorter wait time today. Go figure.
Kahuna
None of us here would seriously mislead anyone about election day! In this case I would, if I could get away with it.
