tcherven
and tents. You can't forget tents. BSA regulations require that all tents be marked with "No Flames in Tents". And don't forget the 53 who tell everyone to switch to the new compact flourescents because the use less energy. Which will cause another 27 to chime in that the compact bulbs contain hazardous materials and can't be thrown in the trash, so the energy being saved is negated by the necessity of hazardous waste disposal. scottteng
Eamonn changing the light bulb in your torch (flashlight for those of you from Rio Linda) is always acceptable as it demonstrates how prepared you are, unless of course it is one of those annoying ones with the two wires soldering required. Make sure to have spare batteries if you have a spare bulb. How about changing the wick in a kerosene lantern since we are all adults and able to handle liquid fuels. packsaddle
Did anyone mention that with the new LED lights, changing a bulb may never happen again? Anyway, who said OGE doesn't have a sense of humor? Fie upon thee!
troutmaster
So, whose "idea" was this thread? Bet it just sort of "popped up" while musing about how to respond to some of the other less important threads.
Aquila calva
How many Scouter psychologists does it take to change a light bulb? None........... But it really has to WANT to change. (OK, so its an old joke!.)

Gunny2862
And 5 or more former military Scouters to point out that you don''t really need the light bulb if you''ll just allow your eyes to acclimate to the darkness... after all, they''ve done it that way for years. And 3 Scouters to shout against the militarization of Scouting by such methods. A 4 historian Scouters to bring up that B-P would have done it by acclimating to the darkness. 2 other historian Scouters to reply that B-P didn''t really mean that, if he ever said it at all.
