Scoutmaster Ron
Anyone have an idea of some Scoutmasters doing a skit? The Wooden Nickel Patrol is in charge of hosting our next COH in March. Thanks!!
Eagle Foot
Do the one about the back packer. New Scout... He's going pack backing.. Pulls out a Dutch over for his stove Pulls out out or is carring 5 gal. cooler for water. Everthing he has is on the heavy side. And in conclusion the Scoutmaster says to the young new scout...I suppose you've got the kitchen sink....yes sir...and he throws down a kitchen sink. flyingember
how serious do you want to get? not serious: the tree song. hold your arms out like they're branches. (make a big wide Y) TREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hold EEEEEEEEE for a short while. there, done. that's it. for a more serious skit: you have the banker. should be the most serious guy there. then you have 3-4 frogs. hopping to the banker. he has a helper who mans the desk. the first two come up asking for a loan to the helper. the helper asks if they have any collatoral they show him something cheap (stuffed animal, hammer, etc) he takes it to the banker. they overdo whispering about the object he says no to the first ones. then the last frog comes up. his object is much better. pick something out, perhaps put a big sign that says "antique" on it for exaggeration. the banker replies. "its a nick-nack patty black, give the frog a loan." and you're done.
OldGreyEagle
I have a skit that I have worked on over the years. Its for two people though. It's a direct rip-off/homage to the classic Abbot&Costello routine "Who's on First". Its called "Who's the Scoutmaster?" If interested let me know, here's the first page: Adapted by OldGreyEagle with apologies to Abbott & Costello The skit begins with a uniformed Scouter standing on stage when another person enters the stage, preferably wearing a hat with the word PRESS written on an index card and placed in the hat band. Reporter: Are you the representative of Troop XXX in XXX ? Scout: Yes sir. Are you the reporter I am supposed to meet? Reporter: Yes I am. My paper thinks a story on your troop would be interesting, its supposed to be very unique. Scout: Yes, after all, we are the finest troop in XXX Council! Reporter: Well, I am glad you are proud of your troop, now tell me about the leaders. Scout: Lets see now, WHO is the Scoutmaster, WHAT is the Senior Patrol Leader and I DONT KNOW, the Quartermaster. Reporter: Well thats just great. I dont think you are the right person for this. Scout: And Why not? Reporter: Do you know the leaders names or not? Scout: Yes I do. Reporter: OK, then who is the Scoutmaster? Scout: Yes. Reporter: I mean the guys name. Scout: WHO. Reporter: Who is your Scoutmaster? Scout: Right. It goes on for 7 pages

LauraT7
OGE - I have a version of the Abbot and Costello/ scout skit - using two scouts - but I'd love to see yours, too - could you send me a copy, too? BTW - I think somewhere on the SCOUTER site is a list of skits.... if i can find a link, I'll post it - I've saved quite a ew and have a book of them for our scouts to use - they uysually pick one and put their own twist on it or at least they give them a springboard for their own ideas - we've had some great campfire entertainment! lauraT
berkshirescouter
My son wrote this one, the troop didn't like it but it was a hit at Den chief training. Scout one: Starts singing "Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam..." Scout two: At this point he yells "stampede" the rest of the troop, patrol, pack, den or whatever runs across the stage! Should be fun for tiger cubs.
OldGreyEagle
If you would like the Who is the Scoutmaster, please send me an email address, I think the script will look better if I can attach it as a file.
