scoutldr
Is there a game on today or something? I hadn't noticed.
gwd-scouter
Game has started. Don't really care who wins. Usually just watch to see who sings the National Anthem and for the commercials. My opinion - Absolutely the worst performance of the National Anthem that I've ever heard.

SemperParatus
Mick Jagger is about as entertaining as a rolling kidney stone. For crying out load, hang 'em up.
Rooster7
Yeah...when he sings "start me up", I can't get the image of a defibulator out of my mind.
Sir_Scoutalot
We were pulling for the Steelers at our house, but when I saw the pregame story about Holmgren's wife and daughter missing the Super Bowl to do mission work in Africa, I thought perhaps the stars might be aligning in favor of the Seahawks. Luckily things worked out. Nice retirement statement by The Bus. Class act.
evmori
Not a pretty win but a win. The Steeler defense was the MVP. Mick did a great job at half time! The Star Spangled Banner was also good. Some people just have no musical taste! Ed Mori Troop 1 1 Peter 4:10 Here We Go Steelers!
OldGreyEagle
Just let me hear some of that Rock And Roll Music, Any old way you choose it; It's got a back beat, you can't lose it, Any old time you use it. It's gotta be Rock And Roll Music, If you want to dance with me, If you want to dance with me. I've got no kick against modern jazz, Unless they try to play it too darn fast; And change the beauty of the melody, Until they sounded like a symphony, That's why I go for that Rock And Roll Music ... Any old way you choose it; It's got a back beat, you can't lose it, Any old time you use it. It's gotta be Rock And Roll Music, If you want to dance with me, If you want to dance with me. Way down South they gave a jubilee, The jokey folks they had a jamboree; They're drinkin' homebrew from a water cup, The folks dancin' got all shook up And started playin' that Rock And Roll Music ... Any old way you choose it; It's got a back beat, you can't lose it, Any old time you use it. It's gotta be Rock And Roll Music, If you want to dance with me, If you want to dance with me. I took my loved one over 'cross the tracks So she can hear man avail a sax I must admit they had a rockin' band Man, they were goin' like a hurricane That's why I go for that Rock And Roll Music ... Any old way you choose it; It's got a back beat, you can't lose it, Any old time you use it. It's gotta be Rock And Roll Music, If you want to dance with me, If you want to dance with me. Don't care to hear 'em play a tango, I'm in the mood to dig a mambo; It's way to early for a congo, So keep a rockin' that piano So I can hear some of that Rock And Roll Music ... Any old way you choose it; It's got a back beat, you can't lose it, Any old time you use it. It's gotta be Rock And Roll Music, If you want to dance with me, If you want to dance with me
Eamonn
I'd like to thank the NFL their support of British music. Last year we had Sir Paul and this year the Stones. I'm a little unsure if it's the music or the quality of the stitching that the NFL really likes? Eamonn
SemperParatus
Here is a link to the half-time performers at all of the Super Bowls...I can't help but think that XXV was the beginning of the end. http://www.superbowl.com/features/entertainment/halftime-honorroll
frankj
I got thinking about the Stones (maybe) watching the game and the conversation that might take place in their skybox as one of the Stones, say Mick tries to explain the game in response to questions from the others: "Hey Mick, how come that bloke keeps dropping the ball?" (referring to a certain Seattle receiver). "Hey Mick, how come those guys in baseball caps keep throwing those yellow handkerchiefs on the ground?" "Hey Mick, why is everybody so uptight while that guy in the striped shirt peers into that box on the sideline?" "Hey Mick, are we gonna play 'Satisfaction' like you told 'em or can we play 'Sympathy for the Devil' and surprise 'em all?"
SWScouter
Hey Semper, I gotta think Super Bowl XXVII had the writing on the wall: Michael Jackson and 3500 local children. That would sure go over well now!
gwd-scouter
Just reading Feb 20 edition of Newsweek. Perspectives section has a quote from Roethlisberger "I don't think I got in." - You know, in reference to that controversial (non)touchdown. Doesn't say where or to whom he said it. But, why would he say that after the game. Did he feel guilty about the call going their way when in his heart he knew he didn't make a touchdown? We'll never know, I guess. About what? He didn't make the call. He's not responsible for the call that was made! If you want to know, ask him. I'm sure he will tell you. He's a stand up guy.
