The Boy Scouts and the United Nations

Just went down to the local store that sells Boy Scout paraphernalia. It is a block away from the library.

 

I bought the merit badge book Citizenship in the World. What is going on in the Boy Scouts of America?

 

What is the United Nations? The United Nations is the last step in the evolutionary process of political organization.

 

All the workers of the world unite! was the cry of Karl Marx and Engels. In the book, One World (published by One World Publishing Co, Notre Dame, Ind. 1984), John C. Kiang traces this movement to socialism: As far as world unity is concerned, Marx and Engels were the pioneers who expounded that modern industry had furnished a real foundation for a world unity, and declared not only that working men have no country, but also that Communists are further reproached with desiring to abolish countries and nationalities. (Pg 248-9)

 

Kiang footnotes these statements in his book: In this declaration Marx and Engels claimed that the struggle of the workers was international in essence. National differences, they pointed out, were being wiped out by the development of free trade, by the growth of a world market, and by the increasing uniformity of industrial and social conditions. The workers in particular were being denationalized by modern industry, and had no fatherland. (pg 248) Karl Marx wanted to do away with nation states and replace it with one global government.

 

Alger Hiss wrote the constitution for the United Nations and was outed by Whitaker Chambers as an communist. Records released from the now defunct Soviet Union prove this right.

 

Not only in that book but another book, Elements of Socialism by Spargo and Arner (MacMillan Co. NY. NY. 1925) discuss and elucidate the foundations, the philosophies, the strategies and the goals of socialism. It states that society evolves like mankind evolves and the final evolution of the political states of man is One World Government. This by the way was written in l925!

 

Modern Socialism is essentially international.(page 202) The State is not abolished. It dies out. (page 213) On page 219, it says, The establishment of a World Economy must necessarily have the effect of softening the differences between nations and of bringing about something approaching a world federation.

 

Is not NATO that world federation? ...how about the UN? There is a chart in that book, that does display that world government is the final evolution of the societies of man. Why on Gods green earth are the Boy Scouts of America participating in communist ideology???? Are these people so lost?

 

It says in Psalm 1, v1: BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO HAS NOT WALKED IN THE COUNSEL OF THE UNGODLY, AND HAS NOT STOOD IN THE WAY OF SINNERS, AND HAS NOT SAT IN THE SEAT OF EVIL MEN.

 

What are the Boy Scouts of America doing? They are walking in the counsel of the ungodlythe communists. The Boy Scouts of America are standing in the way of sinnerssocialists. The Boy Scouts of America are sitting with evil men!!

 

The first thing that the Viet Cong did when they entered a village was kill all the Catholics. During the Greek civil war of the late 40s, communist forces went around killing all the Christians they could find. The Republican forces in the civil war of Spain in l939 killed all Catholics they could get their hands on.

 

Over two hundred thousand Orthodox priests, monks, and nuns were slaughtered in the Communist purges of the 1920s and l930s. According to commission chairman Aleksander Yakovlev, most priests were shot or hanged, although Communist death squads crucified many on church doors and left others to freeze to death in winter after being stripped and soaked in water. In addition to those killed directly , Yakovlev confirms that another half-million priests and religious were imprisoned or deported to Siberia. In a top-secret message of March 1922 to the Politburo, Lenin urged frenzied and ruthless energy in seizing church properties, and called for current famine and disease to be exploited in removing enemies of the regime. As many representative of the reactionary clergy as possible should be shot, Lenin commanded, in order to teach opponents of communism such a lesson that they will not dare to think about any resistance whatsoever for several decades. (First Things, May l996, pg 87)

 

In the French revolution, the forces of revolution, the socialists, stuck Christian babies on pitch forks.

 

Book of Sirach: 13.17 What fellowship hath the wolf with the lamb? What agreement is there between the hyenna and the dog? This is the principle of non-contradiction.

 

God set up nation states. God destroyed the Tower of Babel. These people seek to rebuild it.

 

The United Nations is a communist organization. Its values are opposed to all of Christian teachings. There is even a chapter on International Law. There is no such thing as International Law unless there is an International King!

You would think a library would have merit badge books as well so Penurious clientele would not have to reduce ones' already scarce resources

 

Anyway, label me dense but the following is taken from Meritbadge.com. I don't know if its the most current, but for this purpose it doesnt matter. Somebody please explain to me how any of these requirements teaches a scout to be Marxist.

What is a merit badge on being a citizen of the world doing in the BSA? In the merit badge book on the etnic heritage of the USA is a chapter with picture of the United Nations!!!!

 

With a merit badge book it is promulgating just like Antonio Gramsci has said, Change the culture, change the politics. Antonio Gramsci is alive and well in the BSA.

 

Notice about anything lacking in the preceeding messages about boys to men. It is all in marxist gender neutral terms.(This message has been edited by WHEELER)

The Boy Scouts of America are becoming more progressive and dropping old ideas because (1) their critics, (2) modern people don't understand concepts that were normal back then,(3) trying to 'fit in' with the times. Socialists and socialist ideology is making great headway in all areas of our culture.

 

This is the last sentence in the post To be a Man.

You seem to like quotations, so I will give you three. Why would the BSA have a merit badge for Citizenship in the World?

I have been a scoutmaster for many years and a counselor for Citizenship in the World. It would be difficult to misconstrue the badge more completely than you do. When I consider the value that I put on your opinions, especially with respect to the program of the BSA, only T.R. can express my opinion.

B-P himself stated that the Boy Scout movement was to to provide good works for the community, that the Boy Scout movement was non-military, non-sectarian, non-political and non-class. He saw the spirit of scouting traveling from country to country and hoped it would provide the soul needed to turn the League of Nations into a lving force that will render war impossible.

He wanted boys to do good works for the community, he wanted it to be non-military, non-sectarian and non-class, and non-political. That either makes him a communist or at least an anarchist.

 

Thank you Wheeler for showing me the error of my ways, all this time the BSA has been portrayed by the media as a right wing religious organization when its really a pinko leftist organization soiling the minds of our young men.

Wheeler, I think your post adds to (actually multiplies) the growing body of evidence that you are a fraud.

 

You act shocked, shocked you are, to find that the BSA has a Citizenship in the World Merit Badge. You make clear in your second post that your concern is not just about the content of the pamphlet, but in the existence of the badge. And you learned about this, so you say, by wandering into a Scout supply distributor and seeing the pamphlet.

 

Really?

 

In your "profile" post you said you were born in 1960 and you are an Eagle Scout. Given the time-frames that existed at the time (I was born in 1958 and made Life, so I know something about this, and even remember some of it) I'd say it is almost a certainty that you earned Eagle under the new handbook and requirements that came out in 1972. I mean, it may be conceievable that you advanced so quickly that you advanced so quickly that you were grandfathered all the way through and made Eagle in the 1960's handbook, but I doubt it. Now, what do you suppose was one of the new EAGLE REQUIRED merit badges introduced in 1972? CITIZENSHIP IN THE WORLD.

 

So, Wheeler, unless I miss my guess, you couldn't have been surprised to see Cit in the World as a merit badge, because YOU EARNED IT. Unless you were never really a Scout at all.

 

As for your other stuff, it's just nonsense. To you, everybody except you and your buddies in the (real or imaginary) monasteries you lived in are socialists, and a socialist is a communist, so we're all commies. And anything that acknowledges the 20th century is "progressive" and progressive=socialist=blah blah blah blah. Actually in one of your earliest posts you said that most Americans are socialists, and we probably should have caught onto the madness at that point. Although some may disagree, the Boy Scouts DOES try to be "progressive" to a degree.

It changes with society, though obviously at the moment there's a little bit of a hangup over one aspect of that. That 1972 handbook that everybody likes to ridicule did do at least one good thing, it acknowledged that there were some people in the United States (and in the BSA) who are not white. Shortly thereafter, the BSA acknowledged that just as the worlds of business and government had finally begun to accept women, females (women and girls) also had something to contribute to the BSA. And actually if you think about it, the creation of an organization in 1910 that allowed in people of all religions was a pretty progressive thing in and of itself. Obviously the "traditional" is important in Scouting as well, and as I alluded to, we don't always all agree on where the boundary is. But Scouting ain't communist. That's just nuts.

You are currently wearing at least one clothing item manufactured in the Third World by people beyond the reach of American labour unions. Your food today came from cows raised in Argentina, your orange juice came from Brazil, and your lettuce and tomatoes hand-picked in Florida by itinerant labour from Mexico. That burger you ate at McDonalds was served by an 18 year old (or a 60 year old) making just the minium wage. In some cases they are raising or supporting a family on that. McDonald's offers benefits, but there are a lot of jobs out there that don't. So you still have to buy health care out of that wage, plus feed a family, put a roof over their heads. In the pursuit of greater profits, companies in the united states have exported jobs overseas. That is where an American minimum wage is probably 5x what they are paying a girl in the Phillipines to sew your blue jeans. So you can still pay $30 for them like you did 25 years ago.

 

Marx recognized the value of labour to an economy. He proposed/projected a world (nearly 150 years ago)in which this labour was essential to the growth of the middle and upper classes, but the standard of living actually declined for the labour classes (increased automation, exporting labour-intensive work to areas of cheaper labour). Marx was first and foremost an economist - remember. Today he would probably get a Nobel prize for his theory (and yes, he would probably have to give it back based on the soviet system of impelementation). Most Nobel prize laureates in Economics have used his theories to model current economies and governments today.

 

If you look around - you can see this happening in the United States (the poor and the working poor are getting poorer - their jobs are disappearing overseas).

 

The United Nations has in the past 50 or so years tried (God how they have tried) to protect people around the world, no matter their ideology) from war, famine, economic and political oppression, and disease. Noble concepts - hard to put into action. But without UNICEF, the FAO, WHO and peacekeepers (from every country in the world with a few exceptions) who put their lives on the line, boys and girls in strife-torn areas would not have a chance to grow up safe and healthy, The world (and yes little boy scouts in the USA) would be all the worse without the United Nations.

To those who pointed out that this merit badge was available in l972. I was also taught that we lived in a Democracy and believed such for a very long time. All these years of being decieved. Just like in Plato's cave sitting there staring at shadows and not knowing the truth. I climbed out of the cave and saw the Light. How all these adults have been lying to me and obscuring truth. I making sure my fellow scouts don't grow up as decieved as I was.

Two points here. Duty to God. For the Christians in the BSA how does that square with the Marxist goal of One World government?

 

Is this not an oxymoron? First I am supposed to have duty to God but then turn around and further the Marxist goal? This is an oxymoron.

 

Second Duty to country. How can one do his duty to country when he is busy subsuming it into the One World Government? Another oxymoron!

 

See we don't have the Doric mentality of harmony between word and action. I say the words and then do something else completely opposite. That's great that is called HYPOCRISY.

 

If you are going to talk the talk, you better walk the walk. I pledge to do my duty to God and Country but then teach others and act to promote One World Government.

 

It is plain that you don't know what it means to be men. Be true to yourselves and not say the scout oath, please. It is only a man that stands behind words. An effeminate can say one thing yet do the complete opposite.

 

Here is another oxymoron. Marxist sociology is about effeminizing men. Yet supposedly the BSA program is about making men. That is why all this talk about the BSA being "about fun". Yes, keep them childlike and dumb and they will all kneel. You can't have it both ways. Either you will masculinize men or effeminize men.

WHEELER, you are right about one thing, I don't know what it means to be a man. And you know what? I am proud to recite the Boy Scout Oath and Law every opportunity I get. I understand the Oath and the Law and I do my best to live my life by them. You don't have to be a man to do that.

 

Oh, and one more thing: as you insinuated in another thread, not all women have penis envy. Some of us are very content in the knowledge of our superiority over mere men. (No offense - as I'm sure you don't intend any offense with your posts.)

 

To the gentlemen who post on this forum: I apologize for my last comment. I truly mean no offense to you and I respect all of you for your knowledge and dedication to the Scouting movement. I just had to address this twit on this one. I will now withdraw from the fray.

I strongly urge you to go back and visit the wise abbot and show him the absolute nonsense that you have been wasting your time posting in this forum.

I would urge all the sane people in the forum to squelch you in the hope that you will go away.
