I had always been told that the tune of "Light of Scouting" is "Scotland the Brave" the first tune taught to a fledgling bagpiper Do you know Scotland the Brave?

It depends on your teacher, which song is taught first. I started with a practice chanter for fingers for a year before I even picked up a set of pipes. Scotland the Brave came after a few shepherding songs and light melodies before we even got to Amazing Grace. Scotland the Brave was one of the last before I picked up a set of pipes.

"Scotland the Brave" is very close to "We are the light of scouting" but there are sections that don't sound the same as the tune I have heard. I didn't know if there was actually a tune for it or if one was modified. I have been playing a couple of years and "Scotland the brave was one of the first songs I had learned.
