gcnphkr
I've been putting it off for years now. But I've finally sent in my registration for Wood Badge. I hope I'm a Bear 'cause their part of Back to Gilwell always cracks me up. I wish I could wear my dad's old participant necker. He must not have finished his ticket, at least I've not found his beads.
Apache Bob
Does anyone know if National keeps a record of who finished Wood Badge? That way jet526 could know if his father did get his beads.
wmjivey
Jim, As a proud Eagle "Talk to the Claw" That is IMHO the best patrol to be in of course that are others who beg to differ. Is There a Beaver in the House? Can you find out what patrol your dad was in? John
insanescouter
Gives you a high 5 for signing up to go through woodbadge ... I promise you it will be a week of adventure you will never forget... I do not know of any kind of woodbadge register, but there has to be some kind of training tracking that Councils do... gcnphkr
He likely would have done it 1970-76 although it could have been in the early 60's when my older brother was a scout. I don't recall him wearing beads, but then I don't recall anyone wearing beads back then. He kept everything, so it is in a file somewhere. Because he kept everything, it is task to find anything. The house has been cleared out some, but I'm not sure anyone has dared tackle the files in a systematic way. Likely, most of them will just be tossed, if they haven't been already. I'll send a letter to Catalina Council, they may still have records going back that far.
Apache Bob
jet526 - I talked to past Wood Badge SM last night and they both told me that in our Council we have records that go back into the 60's. And that national has a list of all the old records.
SR540Beaver
wmjivey, Beavers are FIRST in WB order for a reason. They are a superior critter to all others!

Tokala
jet526, congrats on deciding to pursue wood badge training. Wood badge truly is an unforgettable experience. As for beavers, bah! My council has an infestation. My course is next year and there will not be a beaver patrol.;-)
SR540Beaver
Tokala, If you have no Beavers to lead, the rest of the critters will just wander around aimlessly. Sad but true.
Tokala
Incorrect SR540Beaver. All it requires is at least 1 beaver on staff.
SR540Beaver
Tokala, True, one Beaver would equal all the staff and the 7 other patrols of 6. Perhaps national should make it a requirement that all WB Course Directors must come from the Beaver patrol. Oh and jet526, congrats on signing up. Regardless of what you will hear from one or two naysayers, you will gain much from the course and have a blast doing it. If you are lucky, you will be a Beaver.(This message has been edited by sr540beaver)
2eagles
Beavers are first because they are tasty. Regal Eagle

SR540Beaver
Frank, Congrats. I have served on WB staff with many of the folks who will be staffing SR940, one of which is my best scouting friend. You have a crackerjack staff and will have a great course.
