Bob White
I thought I made it clear they were covered?
Fat Old Guy
"If the CO wants to require a full uniform they can. Many do, many do not." How can a CO require a uniform when BSA has said that a uniform is not required? That sounds like adding to the requirements to me.
FScouter
They require a BSA uniform. You require a purple shirt and plaid pants. You want to make a Federal case of it?
dan
Sorry, it looks like I did not finish my thought. Is the training as in depth as I suggested. Actually telling the trainees what a SM should be doing at a meeting? I take it you think that the current training could not use any improvement? My suggestion about not training adults as scouts, can you see any benefit in that?
Fat Old Guy
"They require a BSA uniform. You require a purple shirt and plaid pants. " You are thick, aren't you? I don't require anything, that's not in my power. BSA is the one that said that a uniform isn't required.
Bob White
Yes Dan, the Sm responsibility during the troop meeting, as well as before and after the troop meeting, is covered quite accurately and sufficiently in the current training course. The only time the adults function as a patrol is during preparation for, and during, the Introduction to Outdoor Skills course. Not only to model patrol operation but because it is the most efficient way to administer the training (when the syllabus is followed).
