One Minute Manager and Wood Badge.

Recommended Posts

I have to admit that last year when I was asked to serve on the staff of the new Wood Badge for the 21st Century, I did see the recommendation to read the One Minute Manager, and I didn't.

I thought it was going to be a hard read, full of management gobbledygook, not to mention the fact that it cost twenty dollars.

However, I did break down and spend the twenty, and boy it is the best money that I have spent in a long time.

I think that it would not only be a usefull tool for Adult Training, but would be really usefull for all leaders.

Please let me know your thoughts and views.

I read the One Minute Manager several years ago. I agree that it is the single most useful book on managing people I have ever seen. It is an easy read. Furthermore it is both entertaining and funny. Anybody would benefit from applying the principles suggested in this book.

There are two other books by the same author that I strongly recommend to improve your skills as a volunteer leader.

for scoutmasters- Leadership and the One-Minute Manager

for Unit Commissioners- The One-minute Manager Meets the Monkey

Outstanding tools for developing other people.
