yarrow
My boy has been a Life for about 9 months now and has finished all his eagle required and the extra badges plus. He was signed off for his current POR but was told that when (and it will be a while, he's just turned 13) he does his Eagle he will need another POR. Getting a POR is not a problem, he's active anyway, but where is it written??
Rooster7
Per the Boy Scout handbook, if after obtaining the rank of Life a boy has served six months in a POR, then he's satisfied the POR requirement for Eagle. Did your troop say something differently? I'm not sure I understood your original post.
Mike Long
I don't follow you. If he is a Life and has held a POR for 6 months as Life then the requirement for Eagle has been satisfied. All the requirements (other than merit badges) is in his Scout handbook. If it's not written in the BSA handbook it ain't a requirement. Could they have been referring to his Eagle project? ScouterPaul
yarrow If I read your post correctly your son has been a Life Scout for 9 months. You state that he has been signed off on the POR requirement. Was this requirement completed while he was a Life Scout? If so it sounds like he is well on his way to becoming an Eagle. If the POR requirement was for his Life rank then he will need to satisfy the POR requirement for Eagle. Sounds like someone in your Troop doesn't think a 13 year old should be an Eagle.
