Tiger Track Immediate Recognition Question

I have seen the Tiger Immediate Advancement badges being offered in leather rather than the "official" plastic. Is that substitution allowed by BSA?

I hope so. We're making ours this year. I got a leather kit and the boys will customize their own to go on their belts. I want their pockets for the Centinial Patch we're working on.

As a commissioner, if I was doing a uniform inspection, it would have no effect on my scoring. Technically this is a "temporary insignia" - so a lot of latitude is available.

Ever since the recall of all Immediate Recognition totems a few years back, we have made our own out of leather for the Pack.

 

They have room so that the Scouts can show off their beads for Tiger, Wolf, and Bear, all on the same totem.

That's a great idea ScoutNut. I didn't think about being able to put all their beads on it.

My pack too did their own leather totem b/c of the recall, and to a degree still does. I prefer the leather as it is easer to take on and off for washing compared to the hard plastic they use currently. Don't remember it being that difficult to take off the Progress Towards ranks as a youth.
