Abraiu
We are a new troop and lashing up stuff is new to us. As a boy our troop lashed everything under the sun. We used binders twine. We are hosting a camporee this fall and we need to lash a lot of Bamboo together. What type of cord should I use? I would like to use something that will not stretch. What size of cord or rope would be recommended?

Bob White
I will bow to the expertise of guys like le Voyageur, but I would probably use a 1/4 or 3/8 sisal on the smaller diameter poles and a 5/8 manilla on the 3" diameter poles. FScouter
The pioneering merit badge book has a good discussion about various types of ropes, and which work well for various purposes.
red feather
quarter inch sisal should work well for all sizes mentional. Smaller cord would be good for practice areas and small projects. Good luck.
