porter908
We will be holding our annual Blue and Gold in Feb, 2010. Our theme will be the 100th Anniversary of BSA. Does anyone have any links to material for help and suggestions for this special theme? Thanks!
John-in-KC
Invite older men of the community, who were Cub Scouts in the day, to dinner. Invite your OA Lodge dance team to perform. Find Boys' Life magazines from the 50s and 60s and use them as table favors. Find someone who has a uniform collection and have him bring it. Buffalo Skipper
Or try to invite as many former Cubmasters from your pack to join you. If you have an old pack, you may have a pretty big VIP table. Oh and be sure to recognize them at the banquet.
joff1965
We are planning to retire our 50 plus year old Pack Flag and have the committe present a new one. (Cost about $100) We were going to fund raise to buy the flag but a former cubmaster and district comm has offered to buy the flag for us. We are going to see if the local museum will expect or old retired flag as we were the first pack in the region. SSScout
Oh, ze ideas, boiling in ze grey matter... Many good ones so far... Publicity. TV, print , web, all over the spectrum. Publish a souvenir program, with listings of past Cub masters, any "famous" ex Cubs. Ask the governor, Senator, State legislators to send congrat letters to include. Include old photos, as far back as you can research of the Pack. Sell page space (!fundraising!) to local businesses and folk. Make it a weekend thing, start friday with a Cub Pinewood Derby meeting, then Saturday a Cub Fair (invite the public), lots of fun games and stuff and food. Have your B&G in the evening, with the special cake, food and entertainment. Fireworks?? And invite me!
