I need a simple.... simple Skit for Tiger Cubs...

From a number of sources, The Emergency Broadcast System:

-- The Den Lines up, facing the Audience.

-- Den Leader or another announcer says: "This is a test of the Pack 123 emergency broadcast system. This is only a Test."

-- Everyone in the Den hums a very high pitched note (a Beeeeeeeeeeep sound, similar to the tone on the radio just before an emergency broadcast is given).

-- Stop when the leader raises his hand.

-- When the humming stops, the announcer then says: "This has been a test of the Pack 123 emergency broadcast system. This has been only a Test. If this had been an actual emergency, this is what you would hear . . . "

-- At that point everyone in the Den begins to scream and run around terrified and in panic, and then they all run away.

(Make sure you practice so the Beeeeeps start and stop when they should and so that the punch line does not drag on too long.)

The absolutely best skit for Tigers is The Invisible Bench.

It can accommodate any number, so no shows, or small dens do not affect it.

It is fun to fall down and roll around on the floor.

The lines are simple, repetitive, and VERY easy to learn.

You can even add younger sibs.

The boys LOVE it!!

Another good skit for Tigers that incorporates everyone, Tigers, Adult Partners, and any sibling who is interested, is - A Gathering of Nuts.

This is very adaptable. There are a lot of possible parts that are fun to do.

You, as den leader, are the one who sets it up and does all of the talking. Everyone else simply plays their part on the stage (trees waving, rabbits hopping, sun shining, brook babbling, bees buzzing, etc).

One of my favorites (and simple) was called the "World's Scariest Scout"

You need one un-suspecting scout member like Cubmaster, Committee Chair (preferably in uniform).

Doesn't matter how many scouts you have.

You put a sheet over one of the scouts. The rest line up in front of that scout as the den leader announces the pack has the "World's Scariest Scout". The first scout in line looks under the sheet and screams, then falls to the floor (and rolls away a little). One by one, each of the scouts look under the sheet and falls to the floor in a scream.

When all of the scouts have done this, you ask your un-suspecting scout leader to look under the sheet. When the leader looks under the sheet, the scout wearing the sheet screams and falls over, having seen an even scarier scout.

Last year my youngest son's tiger den did the "we don't have a skit" skit.

On kid says Oh no and slaps his forehead like he forgot something, then the next one ask's him what's wrong? and the first whispers to him then he repeats the headslap oh no.

This goes on until all the kids in the den ask what's wrong as is told then does the oh no. then the den leader or cubmaster or any scouter asks what's wrong, and in unison, they shout we don't have a skit.

WestCoastScouter,

Two of my favorite simple skits for Cub Scout age.

"There's a Bear" and "Tracks"

Theres a Bear

The den lines up, with their head tilted and speaking with a slow southern drawl.

1st Cub - Thar's a Bear! (sounds like Bar though)

2nd Cub - Whar?

1st Cub - Over thar! (point to the right with his full left arm)

2nd Cub - Thar's a Bear!

3rd Cub - Whar?

2nd Cub - Over thar! (points just like 1st Cub did)

(Continues down the line, then repeats with pointing to the left with the right arm crossing arms, then repeats with pointing to the right with left foot and both arms crossed, then on the last time 1st Cub says "Over THAR!" and swing his left arm to the left knocking them all down like dominoes)

Tracks

Very easy for Tigers.

The Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader pretend they are taking a hike in front of the room. Both claim to Outdoor experts. One stops and says "Take a look at that".

Then they argue their expertise, while the DL continues to claim those are "Bear tracks". The ADL disagrees and continues to argue that they are "Wolf tracks". Both of them being seasoned Cub Scout leaders they know exactly what kind of tracks those are.

Finally the den of Tigers (with the help of a parent in the back) shuffles directly infront of the argument, 1st Tiger holding a flashlight in front, and they all saying "choo-choo".

Then the DL's finally agree... "Train Tracks!"

Tiger Stripes

All boys but one line up facing away from the audience.

A boy walks up the the first in line, taps him on the shoulder and asks, "Why do tigers have stripes?"

The boy who was tapped turns around and says, "I don't know" taps next boy and asks, "Why do tigers have stripes?"

and so it goes down the line until the last boy turns around and says, "Because they would look silly with spots" and we see that the last boy has spots stuck all over him.
