prairierose
Hello all, Just a quick question, do boys NEED to earn belt loops for fulfilling requirements for activity badges. I'm reading that it's optional (just so long as they complete the number of requirements needed)and they can if they want. Is that correct? For example: for the Travelor activity badge requirements, do they need to (HAVE to) earn the Map and Compass belt loop? My assistant den leader (also the awards person for our pack) is thinking that all Webelos have to complete the requirements for this belt loop before she will award them the pin for the Traveler Activity badge. I'm thinking she is incorrect, but don't know for sure, any help on this would be great appreciated!
Basementdweller
It says Do any 5 of the 13 requirements. So the belt loops are not required, just two of the possible choices.
SctDad
If it is listed under a Do ALL of these or something like that EX: For citizen, the words are as follows As a Webelos Scout, earn the Cub Scout Academics belt loop for Citizenship. (All boys may earn belt loops and pins more than onceCub Scout Academics and Sports Program Guide p. 4) So Webelos are required to earn some belt loops so they can earn the activity badge. If it is under an optional area then it is one of the options. But remember, it says "As a WEBELOS SCOUT"
