need new song ideas

We are putting together a songbook for our pack. I'm digging around on the web, and will also use the best ones from the BSA songbooks. However, we're trying to include as many new ones as we can. We'll include campfire songs, action songs, repeat-after-me songs, etc.

 

Any of you out there willing to share your favorite songs?

Annie - I have compiled a Cub Scout songbook that I presented at University of Scouting - includes 70+ songs, along with cheers and graces. If you are interested, I'd be happy to mail you a copy if you'll PM me your address.

Try looking on MacScouter. Lots of resources there for the Scouting program. Personally, I like the old songs.

i downloaded one i found on the web and also wrote one to the tune of "my favorite cub scouting things". Sometimes it's fun to make up your own. Include some ones from popular shows such as Spongebob. Ask your son- he'll be able to sing the Spongebob/plankton "friends" song.

Be sure to include songs sung at your local BSA camps. They are unique for each area, and the local units hear them whenever they go. It is nice to be able to sing along. Contact your local camp rangers for them.
