TigerLisa
Even though I went to the session on recognition and awards at the University of Scouting, I am wracking my brain to come up with a fun and creative way to recognize someone who has been a great help to our Tiger den throughout the year. She is the older sister of one of the Tigers, a fifth grader, who we jokingly refer to as our Junior Den Leader. She is always eager and willing to help at den and pack meetings with organizing the boys, handing out supplies, helping them with activities, etc. Just a great kid all-around, and we'd like to recognize her efforts at the Blue and Gold. If anyone has a clever, inexpensive, and fun award idea, I would love to hear it! Thanks. Lisa
scottteng
Have the boys take a pack T-shirt and customize it for her with signatures and Asst den leader other comments about how much she has helped. Idea stolen from Girl Scout day camp.
TigerLisa
scotteng, that is a great idea! Unfortunately, we just ordered our first Pack t-shirts, and I don't think they will be here in time. I'll check with the person who did the ordering, though. Thank you! frank10
If the pack T's wont be in in time, just get some fabric paint and have each tiger apply his paw to it. A hand print with their name under it would look great.
Knight
Wow - terrific ideas. How about an inexpensive little stuffed tiger and put a Cub Scout logo on it? Present it with a certificate that says something like "Mary Smith - World's Greatest Tiger Tamer." Maybe I'm not too clever, but, then again, kids like stuffed animals.
