MTAF
Our pack collects $64 per year per boy. Of that, $24 goes into the boys den and $40 goes into the pack. Dues are collected in September with an option of paying in 2 installments of $32 in September and $32 in January. This seems to work well although I find I run out of money in the den by Nov-Dec. BuffaloSR793
Our Pack has never had dues. We've had dens collect dues, but very little and only for special projects. We sell lots of popcorn and fundraise.
Knight
Our Pack collects almost nothing - less than $10 per person per year, I believe. Almost all of the funding comes from popcorn sales - of which my younger son is the top salesman!
JeffD
for those who rely on fund raising - how much per person do your sales bring in for the pack?
rjscout
We try to get each scout to have a goal of $200. Some far exceed that goal, while others sell just a few items. It averages out. We are hoping to increase that next year with tables outside of the grocery stores. We haven't set our goals for next year, though.
ScoutNut
As RJ does, we set a goal for each scout. Some make it, some go way over and some go under. Our goal is $350 per boy in sales. This works out to $105 profit to the Pack per boy. Popcorn is our only money earning and we fund our entire program with it - no Pack dues. MarkS
A good way to figure out your dues is with the following equation... d = ( b - f ) / m where d is the dues, b is your budget, f your income from fundraising, and m is the number of boys in your unit (m for membership). Our unit collected dues twice a year. Right before recharter and at the beginning of a new school year to coincide with our council's fall recruitment campaign.(This message has been edited by MarkS)
