aliciaf
I have 4 sons. One is 18 and has earned his Eagle rank. The next is 17 and is working on his Eagle project. The third is 12 and a first class scout and my little guy is a Tiger cub. My point is that it has taken me this long to realize that you NEED a bragging vest or jacket!! We have a very active Cub Scout pack and only a few boys utilize the vests or jackets, but I have, as you can imagine, a huge basket of patches that have never been attached to anything and I feel terrible about it! I am going to divide them up for my boys to put in scrapbooks, but I am going to get my little guy a vest. I will get it now but get a really big one so he can wear it through Webelos. Once they get in Boy Scouts, they can attach many of the patches to the back of the sash. They should get the large size sash for more room. Gold Winger
Don't waste the money on a BSA vest. Buy some red felt at a yard goods store, I think that it comes in 6 ft widths and as long as you want it. Get a basic pattern for a vest, cut it out and stitch it together. Google turns up thousands of hits on vest patterns. My son's den leader made vest for the entire den at a cost of less than $5 each and it only took her about 20 minutes for the whole project.
