Boy Scout Joining Requirements (Scout Badge) from usscouts.org "Meet age requirements: Be a boy who has completed the fifth grade and be at least 10 years old, or be 11 years old, or have earned the Arrow of Light Award and be at least 10 years old, and be under 18 years old. If a boy who is still in the 4th grade wants to earn the AOL BEFORE completing the 4th grade, he has to be active in his Webelos den for at least 6 months since becoming 10 years old. That would mean that he MUST be 10.5 years old to earn his AOL.
