zippie2223
I was thinking that the kids in home school might be a value resource for the cub scouts and vice versa. Any ideas on how to get in contact with the parents that do home schooling in our area? I was thinking churches but there are way to many small churches in the area to get to them all. Any ideas? MrsSmith
In our large metropolitan area, there are several organized homeschool groups. Check the internet for your state's association, then work backwards. Churches are a good place to look. Also, teacher supply stores know the homeschoolers. Check with the sponsors of the local Spelling Bees, Geography Contests and Science Fairs: homeschoolers are very active there. Museums, science centers, orchestras have contact with them. Any organization that caters to the education community knows how to contact their local homeschool leaders. Keep hunting: most of them try and maintain very low profiles to the general public to avoid the antagonism they historically face. They do make great Scouts, though.
