Fat Old Guy
My daughter's Girl Scout troop meets right after school and they have the snack first. The troop leader said that if they don't do the snack first, the entire meeting is peppered with "when do we have our snack?" Kid's are hungry after school. I used to wolf down a dozen cookies and a glass of milk before doing my homework.
JimmyD
I like the way your program is worked out similar to what mine was. Only thing i would add in it wold be a "game" time. Maybe 10 mins after the clean up? Other then that good job.
fotoscout
A comment about the Candle... We meet in our school. Open flames are not allowed in the school, or on school property. If you are not meeting in a private home, you will need to get approval before lighting a candle !
CubsRgr8
Last year, my Bear den met from 3:30 - 4:30, right after school. Snack was first and it didn't take me long to figure out - no sugar! Go with cheese & crackers, apples & peanut butter, but no sugar! Also, make sure there's some physical activity, especially when the weather turns and they aren't allowed outside for recess. One of our favorites was running relay races down the halls.
bizzybbb
To cubsrgr8: what is with the running down the halls, anyway? They do it the minute they get in the building! We meet on the second floor of a church classroom building. Maybe if I plan a "hall race" they won't run around like crazy on their own. Thanks. Good idea.
