pkush77
I have a Cub Scout that has recently turned 10 but his parents want him to finish up his Bear. I'm pretty sure I rememeber that you can't do that but I couldn't find it in writing anywhere. Are there specific guidelines about this or is it up to us as a Pack? Twocubdad
No, he can't go back. Once he starts as a Webelos, he can't complete his Bear badge. There is some lattitude at to where you draw the line -- end of third grade or beginning of fourth, when den metings end in the spring or begin in the fall. I'd do all I could to allow a boy to finish the badge. If a boy shows up at the first den meeting or two of the fall with his Bear requirements complete, I would certainly give it to him. But a some point you have to cut it off. If he's not finished by now (mid-September), it's time to move on.
