pack330
I keep hearing about something called "Ethics in Action". What does this mean?
sctmom
Ethics in Action is the title of a small book you can get at your Scout store or Council office. It has ideas of discussing ethics with young people. Includes some activities for the youth to do as a group and then how to lead them in discussion about what it all means. The Cub Scout Fun Book that just got discontinued had ideas at the back of it for teaching ethics to Cub Scout age kids. I don't know if the same thing is in the new Fun Book or not. sctmom
Let me clarify: "Ethics in Action" is found in the back of the "Cub Scout Leader How To Book". A few of the activities are: Be a Friend Caring and Sharing Consumer Alert Differences Peace is Saying No! When Bad Things Happen For older boys, there is "Youth's Frontier - Making Ethical Decisions". It is publication #33620. Most of the book is for the youth to read and discuss. A section in the back in for the adults. Total pages is 20. From the book: "This program encourages young people to look seriously at decision-making and the consequences of their actions. It provides adults, parents, and youth leaders, with a structured way to be supportive."
