Bob White
Sorry OGE I didn't even notice #6 The plaid on the Wood Badge neckerchief is the McLaren tarten. It was the Family plaid of the man who gave BP Gilwell Park. Hence, Robert Stephenson Baden-Powell Lord of Gilwell and I'm sorry again OGE cause I really have come to enjoy your posts. BUT #7 According to BP biography he "found" the beaded breast plate of Zulu chief Deni-Zulu. And the original graduates of Gilwell only got one bead on an elephant hide thong. BUT HEY! #s 7,8,and 9 look Okey Dokey. By the way, you could try asking the scouts Wood Badge questions but I doubt if many even know about Wood Badge. Bob White
If its OK I'll toss in a few 1. How many Countries had Boy Scouts before the USA? 2. What was Baden-Powell's first name? 3. What 3 Eagle required Merit Badges are not required to get Eagle? (one of my favorite questions) 4. What was BPs rank in the army? 5. There are only two ways to properly wear a neckerchief. what are they? 6. Why do the 3 fingers of the scout sign represent?
OldGreyEagle
OK OK OK I submit, I ask questions a lot better than I answer them. Well Mom, you certainly have a wealth of information to use. Actually explaining Wood Badge would be a nice break as well, most scouts dont know much about it history and traditions and what it means.
featherswillfly
Correct me if I'm wrong guys (and I know you will), but I think there are only four ranks that ask for community service. And they are, 2nd Class-req#4, Star-req#4, Life-req#4, and Eagle-the Eagle Project. Isn't that four ranks?

eisely
Trying to contribute more questions that might mean more to the boys: What are the different Positions of Responsibility in a troop? What is the purpose of a board of review (based on recent threads, a lot of scouters have difficulty with this)? What is Philmont? Who made the initial donation of land for Philmont? What are the different high adventure bases operated by the boy scouts? What should you do when lost in the woods? What important piece of equipment is left out of the "ten essentials"? What is a map? What is true North? What is magnetic North? Identify two pressure points on the human body? What are symptoms of heat exhaustion? What are symptoms of heat stroke? What is first aid for heat stroke? What is hypothermia? What is first aid for hypothermia? What should you think about in selecting a camp site? What should you think about in selecting a site for your campfire?
