SSScout
All the previous talk about what one CANNOT take on your camping/hiking/canoeing trip made me want to hear about things your old sainted Scoutmaster usta tell you you HAD to take with you. Things like... Always make sure you buy double ended rope, as the mono ended rope is inherently defective and will cause you no end of trouble. Look for the flat bottom tent, as these have proven easier to set up than any other kind. You know, things like that...
Eagle92
Well my SPL back in the day said I should always take 50' of shoreline with me, to "Be Prepared." He also said prop wash is good for cleaning tents at summer camp, and we need to have that too. Jet wash also works Ditto the left handed wrench and smoke shifters. Now when I worked in the trading post, one SPL sent his scouts to get fallopian tubes from me. I don't have any, so I sent him to our medic, but stated that I don't think she had any extra to give. desertrat77
Two things I always bring: bacon stretcher and raisin peeler. The raisin peeler is like a potato peeler, just smaller.
