CNYScouter
On the NetCompass part of Scouter.com there is a section for resources that has links to camporee ideas. http://www.scouter.com/compass/Leaders_Resource/Large_Event_Planning/Camporees/ On this page there is a link to a night time camporee called "Operation Darkstar" that no longer works. At one time I had this but since then my computer crashed and I lost the information. Does any one have the details on the events for this? My district is asking for ideas for camporees and they have never done a night camporee before. I have gotten individual event ideas from the other night time camporees listed but from memory "Operation Darkstar" had some different events. Thanks in advance Can anyone
moxieman
If you trace the link, it was originally linked off of the website of Troop 19 of Nashua, NH: http://www.troop19.org/ You could find a contact link on that website and ask them if they still have the info. Gold Winger
Operation Dark Star? Scouts flying a spaceship that goes around blowing up planets? Cool!
gwd-scouter
GW - that was the Death Star. Must admit, the title of this thread certainly had me intrigued.
Gold Winger
Think John Carpenter and 1974 or 75 not Lucas, 77 and 37 rereleases.
gwd-scouter
Sorry GW, didn't know about John Carpenter. Guess I'll have to look it up.
Gold Winger
Young people! Nobody watches the classics anymore. :-)
frank10
Thing on the net never really go away, you just need to know where to look for them... archive.org has a back up of just about everything you ever wanted to see again... Using it I entered the link in question and came up with this... http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.troop19.org/DarkStar/darkstar.htm Click on the latest version or one of the older versions if that's what you want to see. (That's why I always remind folks there is no taking it back once you post it on the web!)

Gold Winger
Sheesh! If you're that old, you should have seen "Dark Star" at least once.
Melgamatic
Old enough to have seen the movie, or old enough to have seen the Grateful Dead in concert to know that it's the really long, sometimes boring song they play in the middle of the concert. OldGreyEagle
Which is not to be confused with the Dark Side of the Moon, naturally...
