le Voyageur
For those who dwell on the right coast, and have a Venture crew considering a whitewater rafting trek for next summer; here's a link to an outfitter that does a pretty good job of running folks down the river.... http://www.usaraft.com
johnmbowen
Well, I just tried to reply, but who knows what happened! Well, again... For those headed to the Rockies area here are a few good ones that can do multiday trips. For Mid Colorado on the Arkansas River (which is very popular, but relatively crowded) is Timberwolf Rafting and the owner often leads the trips. For N. Colorado, there is High Plains that does the Upper Colorado River and the North Platte River (Class IV) and preports to cater to Scouts including offering training. For the Idaho Area and getting onto two of the really great rivers of the West, the Main Salmon and the Middle Fork of the Salmon for an entire week is Warren River Expeditions, out of Salmon Idaho, and again the owner often goes on the trips. eagle90
We have rafted down the New River in West Virginia twice in the last four yars. We have used Rivers Water Rafting Resort in Fayetteville, WV and were very impressed with their operation. They had excellent accomodations and equipment, an outstanding staff and great food. They have special packages for Scouts and even have Whitewater MB counselors on staff. We would definitely recommend them for an exciting whitewater trip.
