Cito
I noticed that the 2013 jamboree has a very tall badge. Has anyone seen one to know the dimensions? Seems like it could be a challenge on smaller shirts.
Rover Scout
3" x 1-3/4"
Cito
Thanks, so its just a skinny badge and not a tall badge.
SSScout
It looks comparatively smaller than the 3" diameter round patch of the past. And the embroidery is somehow different, I can't really say how; it just is a really small stitch, very smooth and sharp edged. And rather dark, it reminds me of the silohuette of the BSA postal stamp. New Jamboree, new image.
Eagle92
got a link to the pic?
Cito
Just got it in the mail. it's a whole different type of patch with what feels like a separate backing only held together at the edges. I need to take a pic when I get back to the house. Small but well designed.
Cito
I tried doing this with an iPhone photo but decided it needed to be a scan. http://evstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/2013-Jamboree-Patch.jpeg(This message has been edited by Cito)
SSScout
Oh, ma goo'ness... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=2013%20national%20jamboree%20patch&clk_rvr_id=375452032840&adpos=1t2&MT_ID=70&crlp=13281054852_2416792&tt_encode=raw&keyword=2013+national+jamboree+patch&geo_id=9232&adgroup_id=4028198172 all on ebay, and none of which look like what they sent me to "welcome me". dfolson
I have received 2. Both look like Cito's with the orange border. I wonder what yellow means (participant?) I know that mine is from being staff. I have not seen any for the Council's contingent leaders.
Eagle92
I want to say it's a "woven sew on" typical of European patches.
Tokala
It does appear to be a woven. I've had mine for months and haven't sewn it on yet. I'm not sure that the woven can take the repeated washings over the next 11 months. I'm on OA staff.
jdbsa05
dfolson, there is not a Council Contingent Leader position anymore. They need to register as unit leaders or as staff in order to attend the Jamboree.
SWScouter
I've had mine for months too. I really should get around to sewing it on a uniform.
