Mr. Boyce
Is there a precedence or priority in placing knots on a uniform shirt? For instance, does a rank award go ahead of, say, a training knot? Or do you just place them in whatever order you want to? Or is it chronological?
Tampa Turtle
I think it is mostly custom or tradition. I used to do them chronologically because I was not resewing. Now I do not wear them, but if I did I might assume since folks read left to right that putting the most important (say Eagle)first would be good. Eagle92
It's up to the wearer to determine which knot goes where according to the IG. Me personally I wear the youth related knots first sicne this is a youth program.
AJR2305GDC
I wear them in the order I put them on the shirt (usually). One shirt (just added rank knots) is: ___________________________________________ | EAGLE RANK |YTH RELIGIOUS| A.O.L. | ``````````````````````````````````````````` Another which I had eagle and AOL on first then added youth religious goes Religious---Eagle---AOL Don't have any training knots, etc. yet, but what I plan to do is first add the center knot, then add the knot toward the sleeve, and finish the row with the knot toward the shirt's center. That way you don't need to resew rows.
Cito
There isn't an official order. Its generally chronological on shirts that have been around for a while with the youth knots first. The only trick is getting them square on the pocket and making sure they face the right way.
