Arrowhead
Is anyone knowledgeable about the status of this LNT Master Educator cloth strip? I cant seem to find information on whether or not it is official, or proper placement on the uniform. I guess it would be placed where the interpreter strip is supposed to reside. Im keen to have this on my uniform, but am presently riding the fence since I tend to follow the rules and cant confirm that this item is sanctioned by the B.S.A. (http://www.boyscoutstore.com/leave-no-trace-master-educator-strip-red.html) Best regards, Eagle
Eagle92
Not an official item, I'd put it on a vest, blanket, or pack.(This message has been edited by eagle92)
Papadaddy
Agree, not for uniform wear. LNT is a national program, but not a BSA program, although they endorse the principles.
Curious
We were given a round LNT Trainer patch that is suitable for wear on the right pocket. I would imagine there would be something similar for a Master Educator.

BartHumphries
The round LNT Trainer patch is the "position of responsibility" badge for those boys currently serving as "the" LNT Trainer for their patrol/troop/whatever. Like all position of responsibility patches such as patrol leader, bugler, chaplain aide, etc., it is not meant to be worn when you're not currently serving in that position. At this time, there is no official BSA LNT patch of any kind for anyone other than the boys who are serving as LNT Trainers as their position of responsibility for Star/Life/Eagle advancement. I think that's kind of a shame, but that's a story for another day.
shortridge
There are two separate round Trainer patches. One is produced by the BSA - a standard circular POR patch. (See http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/OutdoorProgram/OutdoorEthics/LeaveNoTraceTrainer.aspx) That's clearly not for adult wear. The other is a black oval patch produced by the Leave No Trace organization, at the link referenced above.
BartHumphries
Yeah, the black oval patch isn't part of the BSA uniform.
shortridge
I'd consider the LNT patch more a part of the uniform than a Klingon interpreter strip or an Old Fart Patrol patch. They aren't part of the uniform, either, but plenty of people wear them. Just sayin'.
Tampa Turtle
As I would want to educate and reeducate scouts on LNT and this would identify experts for questions at meetings and campouts I would let them where it. This is not a hill I would choose to die on.
