OscarTango
Ok, so this sounds like a stupid question, but I'm not too familiar with Scouting. I was checking out BSA's facebook pictures, and there is one guy who has about 20 pages worth of pictures of him scouting with his son. In several of the pictures he is wearing a merit badge sash. Wondering if that's ok for adults? Also, I saw a tiger cub wearing a tan shirt, nothing changed there right? Cubs still wear blue? Thanks!
AlFansome
You are correct on both. Adults do not wear merit badge sashes (only Order of the Arrow sashes at appropriate times). Tigers (and Wolves and Bears) wear blue uniforms.
Eagle92
Correct in that adults don't wear MB sashes. HOWEVER in his defense, if he is a returning to scouting after a hiatus and is using the BSA literature found here: http://scoutstuff.org/BSASupply/images/pdfs/Male_Leader_Checklsit.pdf and for females here http://scoutstuff.org/BSASupply/images/pdfs/Female_Leader_Checklist.pdf You will note that it does include a MB sash. And yes I told supply about that error over a year ago.
BDPT00
Be careful. You're bound to hear a few here saying that it's just fine for an adult to wear a merit badge sash. After all, it's just an Insignia GUIDE. Please don't listen to them. It's good that you're paying attention to proper uniforming. It happens to be one of our Methods. Oh wait! The Method is "Uniform" ... not necessarily "proper uniform." I guess everyone is their own judge. That being said, yes, it's inappropriate for an adult to wear a merit badge sash, and thank you for asking. BDPT00
