WarrenW
If you have 5 knot awards for your leader uniform, how are the top 2 aligned? Centered? Or to the side? I thought I saw a thread of this before but cannot find it. Thanks!
eisely
Taking a wild guess, I would think you could do whatever you like. If you are convinced you will never need to sew another knot on your uniform, then center them.
moxieman
My Insignia guide is a bit out-of-date, but I doubt this has changed much. Knots are to be worn centered above the left pocket. Emphasis on centered. So, if you have a row of two, they would be centered. So a row of three on the bottom and then a row of two centered above those like the steps of a dais. NickP412
http://www.boyscouttrail.com/square-knots.asp theres a picture there that shows how to wear them. if you have 5 you make a pyramid type thing./
MichaelOA
Ouch, when I'm an adult leader, if I ever have 5 knots I will not follow the rules, it seems like a hassle to have to unstitch a knot to add another. I'd just align it to the side, and let the uniform police lose sleep over it.
sherminator505
I have two knots. I wear the Eagle knot centered and STA to the left. So far the uniform police haven't taken notice...
BDPT00
Give the uniform police a break. There's no foul. If someone chooses to tell you you're uniform is incorrect, pay not attention. You won't find anything in the Insignia Guide telling you you're wrong, and neither would they (we), so whoever might say such a thing is not part of the uniform police. Don't kid yourself. Your knots are fine ... just don't wear them backwards. BDPT00
emb021
There are no uniform police. I don't think most would care if your two knots are centered or to the side. What you might get commented by are other common mistakes of knots: * wearing them upside down. (noticable on certain knots) * wearing devices incorrectly. * wearing duplicate knots (saw someone with 2 scouter's keys).
sherminator505
We know there's no such thing as the uniform policy. You probably couldn't see it while I was typing, but my tongue was planted firmly in cheek.
sherminator505
BTW... there seems to be an echo in here. Does anyone know how to delete the extra post when this occurs?(This message has been edited by sherminator505)
ScouterWB
As others have said, there's really no rule on this. Make it easy on yourself and have them flush left. http://scoutingmagazine.org/issues/0901/a-knots.html#sbar1
