wmjivey
Five of my sons switchbacks now have broken buckles, the male end. I am having problems locating new buckles can anyone help? John
BDPT00
Simple ... one belt will solve the problem for all five switchbacks. BDPT00
wmjivey
Do you have boys that can actually keep track of thier belts? This was why I like them, one less thing to find at 5 till the meeting. John
BDPT00
Well ... kids will be wearing belts for the rest of their lives, and most pants don't come with them built-in. May as well just get used to it. BDPT00
CD_Ranger
Snip the 2 stitches in the rear connecting the belt to the pants and remove it. Buy the Good belt with the metal buckle.
nrp1488
You can get the plastic buckles at outdoor stores. Here in MD that would be REI, EMS, Hudson Trail Outfitters and Sunny's Surplus. I think I've seen them in the Campmor catalogue also.
Knight
This is exactly what I was commenting on in another thread about the belts. Several parents locally were under the impression that the crummy black belts are a permanent part of the pants. Like CD Ranger says, the two stiches in the back need to be cut. I wish BSA would just skip the crummy black belts all together. The new green belt is very nice.
mmhardy
I think the old while sea Scout belt looks great on any green uniform. Good contrast.
gcnphkr
Maybe this from REI: http://www.rei.com/product/612220 I wonder why they are breaking, ours have held up. I'll have to check and see if we have a spare from a pair that has been trashed in some other manner. I think I have one that I don't use the belt for. wmjivey
Ours are breaking in the wash, unless they are buckled before going in I run the chance of breakage. I have emailed Scoutstuff.org about the situation and they will be sending me new buckles. John
