dr1965dave
Good evening, fellow Scouters. I am a rather large man, and am having a lot of problems finding a shirt to fit me. I wear a 5x. I know that I can have them specially made from scoutstuff.org, but it is a 6 to 8 week wait. I am signed up for a wood badge course at the end of this month, and uniforms are mandatory for this training. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help !! Gold Winger
Since uniforms aren't mandatory for Scouting, I don't see how they can be mandatory for trainng.
FireKat
Talk to the WB people. I cannot see them refusing someone who wants training because of a shirt. They know how long a custom shirt can take and may know where you could find one. If not, they may have other suggestions. Good luck!
Knight
I'd suggest calling Scoutstuff.org and asking them about a rush order. I'd bet they'll accomodate you. I found some official Scout shirts very cheaply by looking around at www.craigslist.org
dr1965dave
Thanks for all the advice...I called the coordinator and he said it is STRONGLY encouraged that everyone be in uniform. However, I did find another post on here that gave me a great idea. Someone said they bought regular khaki shirts from Wal-mart and bought the emblems from their local scout center. I went online tonight and found a shirt from a law enforcement uniform company that was almost identical to the official BSA shirts...and it was available in my size !!! It was a little pricey, but hey, what can I do? That's the price I pay for not being able to say no to Krispy Kreme. Thanks again, everyone.
