Stosh
Why is it that parents can fork up $200-$300 for a full hockey outfit that the boy wears for 2-3 seasons, but they can't come up with $100 for a full uniform for Scouts that he'll wear for 7 full years? The money argument is bogus. I have boys in my troop coming up with $1000+ for a uniform and no parents complaining. For those who are financially strapped there is E-Bay or older boys who have grown out of their uniforms that could cut a deal with a smaller new scout. These are not major issues. Gold Winger
Stosh, it's simple. Hockey is IMPORTANT and scouts is just . . . Scouts.
emb021
"Hockey is IMPORTANT and scouts is just . . . Scouts." That's because Johnny is so great at playing [insert name of sport here] that he will get a full ride scholarship to college and a professional contract to play said sport an be Set For Life. There is nothing he will gain from Scouts that will make as big a difference in his life as [insert name of sport here]. Is he going to gain any life skills or something he can turn into a career or get a free ride in college? [please note that the above is SARCASM!]
