yarrow
Ok, if 6 months are needed for Life and all requirements would be satisfied by the COH date, how can you have a Scoutmaster's conference 2 weeks back of the date and a board too, or can they all be signed on the award date? Do they have to wait to the next cycle?
jmcquillan
All time in service and requirements for any rank must be completed prior to the Scoutmaster Conference. Board of Review follows that, and Court of Honor after. But the time-in-service requirement, and all of the rank requirements must be completed before the Scoutamster even gets involved for the SM conference. yarrow
Thanks, JM. He'll need to wait until the next cycle. That works too.
eisely
The two relevant dates are the scoutmaster's conference and the board of review. Date of rank is from the board of review date, not the court of honor. This is important for the time in grade requirement for the next rank. The court of honor is literally a formality, an important and useful formality, but a formality nevertheless.
Kevin M
Aside from individual troop policy, the SM conference and BOR can be held on the same date. There's no stipulation on time between the two. And as mentioned by eisly, date of rank is from the BOR, and the COH is a formal recognition of the boys' accomplishments.
