Proud Eagle
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Oscar de Larenta credited with playing a part in giving us our current uniform? Thought I would mention he designed the First Lady's gown for the inaugural ball this year. Better not tell the boys about this or it will make getting them in uniform even harder. Eagle69
The current Scout Uniform was designed by Oscar sometime back in the 80's.
acco40
My wife still has her Oscar de La Renta scarf - official neckwear for female Cub Scout leaders.
Fuzzy Bear
My vote is for a uniform that fits the outdoor challenge and not the other way around. FB
jackmessick
I was a Scout when the change took place. The uniforms were announced in late 1979/early 1980 (I remember seeing an article in Time or Newsweek), and then released in the fall of 1980, as I wore the new shirt at my Eagle Court of Honor by Spring of 1981. jack messick
