by land or by sea
Hi, I am brand new to scouting. I have 2 sons and was asked to lead a Tiger Cub den. I have questions about my application and criminal background check. How far do they go back? I did make mistakes in my past,(about 15 years ago) but learned from them. nothing like jail time, a DWI and a late video (No Kidding). Any imput would be helpful. Fat Old Guy
I don't know the answer to "how far back" but I'd run it up the flagpole and see what happens. If they reject you, you can appeal.
Bob White
The BSA will look at the specific category of crime and at the age of it. If your record contains only what you have told us there will probably not be a problem. It is important that you tell the truth on the aplication. If you say that there was never a conviction and the background check turns one or more up, then that could exclude you from membership.
