blw2
I'm a new Assistant Den Leader. Where would I find the "official" requirements for the various awards, I'll call "Extra Curricular"..... such as Emergency Preparedness, etc...? Some are in the handbook, but I can't find a "complete reference", except for http://meritbadge.org & I don't get the idea that this is the official source. I asked the scout store when i was kitting out my uniform, and she sold me the Insignia Guide, but that turns out to be only a catalogue of part numbers. No requirements are listed, only the occasional blurb about how to wear some of them. Is there an official guide someplace that lists all Cub Scout awards, requirements for each, how to award, how to wear, etc....????

blw2
..... ah but upon closer look, they still don't make it easy. That page doesn't list some others that I've stumbled across in my search, such as attendance pins, summer activity awards, etc..... My search continues...... Scoutfish
I don't think you will find an entire list of available awards. Maybe you might find an order form that the scout shop uses for a complete list, but it would be lacking the requirements and who can earn the award. Best you can do is print out your own little combined booklet from the various sources. boyscouttrail.com has a page that will direct you to awards from Tiger scouts all the way through Eagle. They also have Venturers and adult knots and awards listed too: http://www.boyscouttrail.com/awards.asp Giude to placement of the knots and what the knots look like: http://www.boyscouttrail.com/square-knots.asp BSA.org has this page : http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/BoyScouts/Youth/Awards.aspx US Scouting Service Project has this to offer: http://usscouts.org/cubscouts/csabcs.asp
Scoutfish
Don't forget looking in your cub scout leader handbook!
ScoutNut
I suggest looking a bit more closely at the BSA National website. If you back up one level at the link OGE provided to Cub Uniforms and Awards you will find other links. If you look up a bit on the page you will see a big blue tab with the words Award Central in white.
Basementdweller
Be wary of unofficial sites... They may not be up to date or have inaccurate requirements.
5yearscouter
Boy scout trail gives a pretty good outline of all the awards for each rank. And the webmaster is pretty good at keeping it up to date. once you know the award name, you can often go find it at the places linked for BSA national website to verify it's correct and hasn't changed. in the last 7 years of cub scouting, I've almost given up on the bsa stuff being easy to find. I've never seen the requirements spelled out anywhere for the attendance award, I believe it's a unit award and should reflect perhaps perfect attendance, which could be in den or pack events or both combined. We just don't give it out in our pack cause it's hard to have anyone with perfect attendance.
