John-in-KC
Well, since in the 2009 Requirements #33215 National said they'd time new MBs for release with Requirements with an annual update of the website... I'd hope they decide to implement all these new MBs in December or so.
prairie
I earned Lifesaving merit badge back in the early 70s, and qualified open water with PADI in 2006, cept for the dive tables the SCUBA cert was easier. SCUBA training has slipped a long way from what the YMCA did 40 years ago.

sherminator505
Actually, GPS-GIS is more closely related to surveying. It might be a better idea to incorporate GPS-GIS into the Surveying MB...

bpaul
All, I just received an email saying that the SCUBA merit badge has gone into print! Here is the link I have to the MB. https://rcpt.yousendit.com/749811021/0d84313a877dc3012d2b200490e3d236 Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea which MBs will be removed from the active list due to the introduction of the three new MBs? Buffalo Skipper
bpaul, Thanks. Interesting requirements, interesting read (scan). Please advise us of any others when they post. I have not heard which (if any) will be dropped. With 4 new badges, I would speculate that at least a couple would be dropped. BSA has always maintained a "range" of badges for decades. Something like 116-124 (I read it somewhere--Ask Andy?--but I can't find it now). I haven't counted how many are currently offered, with or without these new ones. Can anyone else contribute this number or comment on which are on the chopping block? (no myths here...)
