Scoutmaster Teddy

We have a local scout whose parents enrolled him into a neighboring a council's troop. I've taken training in a neighboring council.

I'm trying to change the culture. It's hard to do. i'm a finalist for Scoutmaster. If I'm appointed changes will come. If not, who knows? I'll might get vetoed as usual.

I haven't seen that in my council, Illowa. I do know that my DE covers 4 counties in West Central Illinois. She could use some help, I'm sure. that's a lot of area to cover. Odd thing is that we are closer to 3 other councils (Mississippi Valley, Abraham Lincoln, WD Boyce).

We usually stay within 50 ft. of the trailer. Adults eat what the scouts cook. Trailer is for storing things we might need, so bring everything.

You are correct. I was mis-lead about needing a non-profit Google account for a Wood Badge Course. I created an account for the course and am proceeding to populate the photos, Gilwell Gazettes, etc. Thanks!

Nothing added to Illowa Council as far as I know. Buy it's probably coming.

Hello! I’m the Scribe for a Wood Badge Course, C3-133-16. I was asked to create an online repository for the course’s photos and files. It looks like we don’t quite fit the non-profit category on Google Drive. Has anyone created a repository for a course before? I’d like to read your recommendations, etc. That You! That is the council name. Covers part of Illinois and Iowa.

I used to be an Owl (C3-133-11), and a good old staffer too (C3-133-14) and C3-133-16 (soon!). I've had an account on here for a while. Only browsed occasionally. I work as an IT Systems Admin which eats most of my time. Survived the entire Cub Scout experience and just starting my second year as Asst. SM. Also served a sting as CS Roundtable and BS Roundtable Commissioner and served on the Inali District and Illowa Council Training Committees. And... this is my fifth year as Cub Day Camp Director and my 7th year in a row. Whew... I'm tired already. Inali is Sac-Fox for 'Black Fox." Jim Thorpe was from the Sac-Fox Nation. Inali was the former OA Chapter's name when we were Prairie Council. Interesting conversations coming up, I'm sure.

I'm in it for the scouts. But I would prefer that my chartered organization have the right to select leadership. Our troop is sponsored by a religious organization which has beliefs that contradict allowing LGBT adults. I would prefer that even non-religius organizations have that same right. IMHO of course.
