  1. There may be two different ways to handle this. One is to have his medication changed or get him an additional medication for night time. The other is to give him his medication later in the day so that it lasts later into the night and hopefully until he is asleep. Thinking of the situation I would recommend the first option if possible. Kids who are ADHD etc. are like energizer bunnies when their medication wears off. This is not the child's fault. I am glad that his parents realize that he does need medication. As far as what you can do as the leader if they do not want to change his medication about the only thing that I can suggest is trying to provide a calm environment for him for an hour before LIGHTS OUT.
