Grew up in a cabin in the woods one mountain pass North of Yosemite. My father was the snow ranger and naturalist for the forest service so learned to ski and hike at the age of two. Moved to Bend, Oregon when I was eight where I joined Cub Scouts. Went all the way through Scouting becoming at Eagle Scout in 1982. Learned how kayak, mountain bike and rock climb in Central Oregon. Became a Raft Guide on the Deschutes River to pay for college. Continued in Scouting serving leadership position with Pack, Troop, Team, Post, and Crews. Have served on District, Council, Area, Region, and National Committees. Help further scouting as an instructor at Philmont and National Camp School. Arrange trips and guide kayak expeditions in Alaska and Hawaii. Have been honored with many awards and recognitions in scouting.
