It's the past mistakes ie the only reason we are here today.And as far as future boys being affected by the past wouldn't be if the past had been dealt with the moment it happened.And all of that rest squarely on the BSA.As far as parents not wanting to prosucate is their decision that shouldn't be an excuse for them not doing any/everything in their power to prevent this.They may have done some work to prevent but with 82,500 claims is very telling they didn't.

What I can't understand is how can adults run a program and have knowledge of kids being abused and they turn a blind eye on it.Put a name in a book out the book as far back in the filing cabinet as they can.Kick the pedophile out and not call the law.Thats where I'm hung up at. I just can't understand what kind of people do that. Cause I can say without a doubt if the tables were turned and I was the adult that had knowledge of the abuse I would be kicking somebody's ass all the way to the jailhouse. They didn't care back then and today we are nothing more than a claim number to them. I haven't figured out who outside of Scouts I will have to worry the hell out of to keep the BSA in check about them doing any and everything in their power to stop this from happening to any other kids.I don't want anyone to have to go through pure hell until their 45 -50 years old before they even think about figuring out what's what.I thought about writing congress about this but it will only fall on deaf ears.If anyone has ideas on who I can worry the hell out of to make it happen please share your thoughts. BECAUSE THIS HAS TO STOP.

I'm beginning to wonder if filing a claim was even worth reliving the past.Its clear as day that BSA don't give no more of a damn about us today than they gave 40-50 years ago about us!;!. Sorry in advance if my comment is posted in the wrong place.Ive been clean and sober for 4 1/2 years now and I've just about fell off the wagon a couple of times since opening up those old wounds They say time heals all wounds,that may be true but not at all true for the abused,raped or whatever you call it. It's no easier today than it was when it happened. Again sorry if I shouldn't have posted here.Just needed to vent and ask for prayers that I can stay strong enough not to give in to them temptations

Just remember us survivors have a different outlook on things Someone posted that we victems can't see the greater good of what BSA offers.I see the greater good it has been for a bunch of my friends and I'm happy they all made unharmed but all that will never change my outlook on the fact that BSA did not do their job and failed a bunch of guys. It's always been about the money.Sure the BSA said I'm sorry this happened to all of you and it hurts our hearts that you guys went through this.Those statements were for the TV cameras and nothing more.If they truly cared they would have starting fixing this when the very first abuse was reported instead of writing the sick bastards name down in a notebook and shoving it in the very back of a filing cabinet.It was all about the dollar then and that's all it's about today.ive read others post about how much good the Scouts have done for a bunch of guys that went unharmed.They we're putting that above the fact that thousands of young boys life was ruined because the BOY SCOUTS DIDNT PRACTICE WHAT THEY TOLD US TO DO,HOW TO LIVE.ONE POST SAID THEY KNEW THE SUIT AND TIES IN THE NATIONAL OFFICE AND THEY WERE OUTSTANDING PEOPLE.WELL I DISAGREE BECAUSE ITS THOSE PEOPLE THAT ARE FIGHTING TOOTH AND NAIL TO KEEP THE REST OF THEIR LITTLE BLACK BOOKS WITH THE NAMES OF THE SICK BASTARDS NAMES THAT DID THIS.AND THE ONLY REASON THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY IS BECAUSE THAT FIRE THATS BEEN BURNING OUT OF CONTROL FOR OVER 100 YEARS HAS REACHED THEIR BACK DOOR STEP,NOT BECAUSE OF THE VICTEMS. I agree that it may be some with memory problems but speaking only for me not being able to provide your troop number,the pedophile name,and what and where it happened is something not matter how hard I try to forget that is something that is in my head for life.Its hard to believe that if someone was truly abused you can't remember the who,when,where and what abuse happened.I really pray the fakes get weeded out.

This whole bankruptcy ordeal has never been about us victims.Its been all about the national and their money.Victems have over a hundred years of proof of that.They worry more about money and making sure their reputations not be tainted.The could care less about the 38 years of hell I went through because they did not protect me and all the others.Putting the names of these sick men didn't protect us it protected the pedophiles and the Boy Scouts Of America.They could care less about the victims if they did they would have started fixing this problem with the very first case that was reported.They didn't.I wasn't even going to file a claim but the more I researched and seen all the cover ups BSA are involved in I filed a claim.And at this point I will dance a jig if they get shutdown.And to be honest that is exactly what needs to I'm sorry but any establishment that is for kids that cover up these horrific crimes does not have any business running a program like BSA.THEY FAILED EVERY SINGLE VICTEM.SO GOOD RIDDANCE BSA.IM DAMAGED FOR LIFE NOT MATTER HOW MUCH THERAPY I GO THROUGH.
