It's not my place to judge either, but the word of God shall judge us all. Christ himself told us to judge a false prophet by fruit and that only those who do the will of the Father will enter heaven. (See prior post.) Furthermore: "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Cor 6:9-10) Do not be deceived! -

For what it's worth God does hate the sinner. It's just that His love is so great that the object of His hate can simultaneously be an object of His love towards redemption for those who come to Him and repent and believe the gospel. Want proof? "The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers." Psalm 5:5 "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." John 3:36 Yes, John 3:16 is indeed also true, but if God didn't even spare his only son to pay for sin fo those who would believe how would you possibly fare? Also note the "obey" portion of the last verse. That's not teaching that salvation is by works. It's teaching that those with true saving faith actually end up with works. The words of Christ: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 7:21 And that's talking about people who PROFESSED faith in Christ. We're not even talking about those who publicly reject Him. That verse is about supposed BELIEVERS. And the verse about "Judge not lest you be judged". That's talking about hypocritical judging. The same chapter that contains that also contains this: "“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits." That is judging by results the veracity of one's faith. Take heed! And again we come back to the folly of the 2015 BSA decision, much less the other ones. -

If we all make up a god in our own image according to our desires then yes, we can all love such a "God" and such a "faith". "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth" (From 1 Timothy 2) -

No, because I believe I live my belief. It's not merely an empty creed. Faith without works IS DEAD. You are either disingenuous or insane to think that those of true faith would endure the BSA endorsing and codifying what is considered an abomination before God. Or you're forgetting the Scout Oath. It's largely the combination of what the Scout's claim to be with what they are that cannot be abided by ANYONE of traditional faith unless they have either abandoned it or they don't truly believe. My children will NEVER participate in an organization that tells them that sexual perversion and homosexuality is ok and in effect honoring God and morally straight. I will have to face God someday and answer for these things. This is me communicating what the BSA has foolishly done and why it is a dead organization to its former constituency. Evangelical leader Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, called on all of the faith to leave the BSA completely last year. I concur, and so do many others. -

And you have obtained this knowledge of God how? I have the Bible, the written word of God. A self authenticating work, containing prophecy after fulfilled prophecy across thousands of years. The book upon which the world itself turns even to this day. A book that explains things as they have been, are now, and shall be, a book giving sight to the blind, hearing to deaf, clothing to the naked, and riches to the poor. Your turn. A reading of only 1 chapter of the Bible proves my case: Romans 1. The BSA leadership knew that something like 70% of their members were those hosted by a church and that the BSA requires a belief in God and yet they still rammed these things down the throats of their members. Did the BSA really think that this would end well? "Hey look, the BSA just endorsed homosexuality, I now see just how silly and ignorant and wrong the holy word of God is, I'm sure the BSA's vote is now the REAL authority on this." Laughable. From Romans 1: "For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done." "Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them." You can go ahead and hate this God, but you cannot pretend that He approves of what the BSA has done over the last few years. And now we see consequences. -

It's actually out of a love for kids. And this is why: The Bible teaches that having unnatural sexual affections is effectively no different than any othet sinful tendency that mankind can be born with. The only thing that makes homosexuality and the like distinct is that the Bible teaches that they appear into a population in increasing proportion as the particular result of the "wrath of God revealed" upon a people who knowingly reject God. (Quick read of Romans 1 proves this.) What made America particularly distinct before now? Its Christian heritage. What has America willfully abandoned of late, relatively speaking? Exactly. You see, the hateful Westboro Baptist Church have it all wrong. God won't judge America for the immortalities of homosexuals and so forth. America has already been tried, weighed, found wanting, and judged for "although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools" "Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie" But back to the point about the kids. To tell kids to swear an oath to honor God and be morally straight and yet have a homosexual scoutmaster give the oath unapologetically to even one or more unapologetic homosexual boys is an act of the most supreme hypocrisy and arrogance before God. Do you really think that it's loving to teach children that? That is what passes for love? According to the word of God, great woe is unto those who call good evil and evil good. And it speaks of a lost generation that they cannot see it for just how grevious and dangerous such behavior is. No, I love the children, and that is why I will support Trail Life USA, who, I might add, does rightly accept kids with homosexual feelings (just as one would accept a child with anger issues or something similar) they just don't allow that to be endorsed or acted upon, instead they treat the child with love as one would hope and expect. The BSA (corporate) cannot understand what they have unleashed because they clearly don't understand God. To expect faithful men and women to just "get over" the BSA's past endorsement of extreme sexual immorality while at the same time leaving "honor God" and "morally straight" in the pledge is the height of arrogance and folly. All should tremble who have taken God's name and dragged it through the mud via the past association of the BSA with the Triune God, according to the decisions of 2013, 2015, and 2017. "God is a consuming fire, a jealous God." "Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes." "Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil." "But I acted for the sake of My name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations" -

It is better for the BSA to collapse than to persist as a vehicle of societal corruption. Particularly due to the BSA's historically wholesome and patriotic image from its past. This image makes the BSA especially dangerous, unfortunately, due to the arsenic it now carries. And that is why my family can no longer support any aspect of the BSA. I even made sure not to buy the 1911 handbook replica from the BSA, which I shall teach my son from. I found a 3rd party publisher. Thankfully, there is now Trail Life USA. I'll use the 1911 handbook to supplement Trail Life. "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!" -

I'm not talking about going co-ed as violating the law of God. I'm talking about the open and codified approval of homosexual scouts, scout leaders, and transgendered scouts. The LDS decision appears to have been made long before the co-ed option appeared regardless of what was publicly said. For my family, the scouts died in 2013. The decision this last week was just the final nail in the coffin. -

It is not about social class. It's about the eternal law of God. A true friend must part ways with another if they insist of taking one into evil. It cannot be any other way. A true friend will tell you what you don't want to hear and warn you rather than be a yes man unto your destruction. Finally, by violating the oath to honor God and be morally straight the BSA are no longer scouts anymore anyway and thus the principle is not violated by LDS nor Trail Life. They wear the skin of the scouts but they are no longer scouts. -

For now and judging by finances maybe not for very long. They follow the current zeitgeist, but what they fail to realize, apparently, is that they really have undermined the scout oath to honor God and be morally straight but it's not that they should fear the wrath of God as a resut of that, no. It's that what they have done *is* the wrath of God manifested by the organization being "given over" to that which is unnatural and "inconvenient" and the subsequent consequences thereof. But then this is the entire culture and bigger than the BSA, clearly. In any event, some of us come from this background, and we trace our line back through the Puritans, and so for us we will not bow to man and therefore we have parted ways with the Boy Scouts. It's sad but necessary, yet, the ideals live on and cannot be destroyed. Scouting in its goodness and purity will live on through those who carry the light through this dark age of civilizational decay, so as to one day bring back what was lost as the decline and subsequent collapse unfolds in the broader context of the west itself. The BSA ultimately is just one manifestation of that broader arc of history on display, sad though it specifically is. Those carrying the western ideals are reproducing and having children and those who are not are dying off, so at some point this will reverse, but not until we go through winter, as far as I can foresee. Take in the sails and batten down the hatches ladies and gentlemen. -

For what it's worth as a son of a family with a more or less casual scouting legacy (brother made eagle, other brother and myself made star for various reasons, father a scout) and as non LDS individuals we are also done with the BSA permanently. So our sons will never be Boy Scouts because as we see it the Boy Scouts don't exist anymore. Whatever the BSA is, it not only holds little interest but it's actually morally reprehensible and repulsive to us at this point. My father considers the Boy Scouts to be dead. And no matter how much BSA corporate schemes, they lost us permanently when moral deviancy was approved and further legitimized via the organizational code over the last 5 years or so. My son will be joining Trail Life USA next year. The principles of the original Boy Scouts will live on in our family and the legacy is NOT LOST actually, they will just live on in another form. I am especially looking forward to the Trail Life Grand Prix (Pinewood Derby replacement) with my son among other things. Thank God for Trail Life or we would indeed be breaking tradition forever. We'll never compromise our moral position because we fear God before any man, much less a relatively young institution founded by mortal men. And this is something that apparently BSA corporate cannot possibly understand, or else the Boy Scouts would still be prospering today. Smaller by necessity, no doubt, but not on the brink of extinction.
